An introduction to baking and cake decoration: this social class allows women to learn new skills, meet new people and be part of a social group. Share recipes from different cultures and countries.
Sewing
Book Class
Monday, 1pm – 3pm
Suitable for anyone who wants to learn how to sew: in particular how to make shalwar kamez (traditional asian trousers). You will learn how to follow a pattern, cutting techniques and how to use sewing machine.
Arts
Book Class
Wednesday, 10am – 12pm
Taught by a volunteer and Fine Art postgraduate student, these lessons are tailored to the abilities and interests of the class members. Previous projects include : clay modelling,paper mache decorations, painting on canvas, decorative crafts ,and pop-up card-making
Basic Arts & Craft
Book Class
Thursday, 1pm – 2.30pm
For women who like a more relaxed atmosphere: this class is tailored for women with additional support needs. Members work on basic arts and craft projects. The projects in this class are usually seasonal (for example summer class project in the run up to summer)
Make Do and Mend
Book Class
Monday, 10am – 12pm
Learn different crafts such as knitting and sewing. Make new things from recycled fabrics. Past projects include making handbags from old t-shirt.
Flourish
Tuesday, 01.00pm – 03.00pm
Provide’s children activities and a separate workshop for mums. Flourish aims to improve the confidence of children and mums and reduce feelings of isolation, in addition to promoting health and mental wellbeing. Find out more about Flourish.
